The PhD trajectories have been selected from universities that partook in the Sustainable Humanities process. The goal of the PhDs in the Humanities funding instrument is to increase the number of young talents in the humanities. The programme is funded by Regieorgaan Geesteswetenschappen and NWO domain Sociale en Geesteswetenschappen.

The projects that have been awarded a grant are:

• 'Site Sound: visualising the acoustic underpinnings of Mount Lykaion’s ancient sanctuary to Zeus' by Pamela Jordan

• 'Crafting Nature, Cultivating Gender: Gender en stedelijk groen in Amsterdam en Berlijn tijdens de lange 18de eeuw' by Antonia Weiss

• 'Foundations of Human Mechanistic Reasoning: The structure of asking “How?”' by Dean McHugh
